ABC News broadcasted a short segment on the effectiveness of acupuncture in treating the side effects of breast cancer treatment. The report illustrated that acupuncture was just as effective for nausea, night sweats, anxiety and depression as the medication therapy and had not side effects. In fact, many of the participants in the study reported more energy, better quality of life and improved sex drive. Devon Vernetti, Acupuncture Continuum’s newest arrival, completed a rotation at San Diego Cancer Center in Encinitas and has first hand knowledge of the effectiveness of mitigating the side of effects of cancer treatment therapy.

Whether you are suffering the side effects of cancer treatment, overwhelmed by pregnancy morning sickness or experiencing hormonal changes, acupuncture is a safe and effective way to improve your quality of life.

While insurance coverage for complimentary alternative medicine (CAM) including acupuncture is more progressive in California than in most states, it still falls short of meeting the goals of care of our patients. Increasing research continues to support the positive effects of acupuncture in stress relief, infertility, hot flashes, amenorrhea, and much more, but the bottom line is insurance only pays when patients are in pain.

The New York Times published an article illustrating the willingness of patients to seek acupuncture treatment despite the lack of insurance coverage by paying out of pocket, trying community acupuncture or seeking discounted treatment through educational clinics. We at Acupuncture Continuum encourage everyone to vote with your dollars, continue to find economic ways to receive treatments and show the insurance companies you want better coverage.

Acupuncture Is Popular, but You’ll Need to Pay

Acupuncture Continuum continues to strive to provide the highest quality of health care services at reasonable prices by offering insurance coverage with several companies and cash discounts when coverage is unavailable. Interested in making an appointment? Please call our office at (760) 635-0581 so we can assist in determining if you have coverage or qualify for discount rates.

I am finally getting settled in to my new house, town, business and lifestyle here on the East Coast. Susie and I found a great house that is across the street from the state park and less than 2 miles from the beach. We can ride our bikes everywhere and we already love the small town feel. Plus, we live on an Island which is pretty cool also. The trip out here was not bad at all. My dad and I drove the UHaul while my mom and Susie flew back. It only took us 5 days to get across and we had a great time doing it. Some good Father Son Bonding time.

I set up shop and opened Jeremy Linquist Acupuncture about 1 month ago. It’s a slow start but there is so much to do that I barely have time for anything else. I am offering classes and workshops to build business so if you are ever out this way you should attend. I teamed up with the Natural Therapies Institute which is a great place to be. We have 11 practitioners under one roof each with something special to offer, making it a great place to fulfill all your health and wellness needs.

Susie is now 5 1/2 months pregnant and she looks great. I’m so excited to have this baby. We found out that it is going to be a boy but we don’t have any names picked out yet so I’m up for suggestion. We are having a contest to see who can pick the due date and time. If you want to get in on it you can enter at www.linquistbaby.babypool.com. Other than the craziness of anticipating a baby, getting everything ready, learning about our new town, opening a new business, and trying to stay sane in the process, everything is great.

I really miss all my patients and friends from California. I had the best patients any practitioner could ask for. I am going to come back next summer for a wedding with Susie and I will keep everybody informed so I can make an appearance with the baby boy.

If you want to keep in touch you can still email me at JeremyLinquist.Ac@gmail.com or you can follow my blog at jeremylinquist.wordpress.com I’m also working on a website: www.JeremyLinquistAcupuncture.com which is not finished yet but it will be soon. I would love to have some testimonials from my patients if you would like to write one. Feel free to write anything about your experience with me as a practitioner. I’ll keep your names private using only your first name.

I miss you all!!!

Until the next update……..Ciao,

Jeremy Linquist L.Ac.

To all my patients,

Today I am writing to notify all my patients that I, Jeremy Linquist L.Ac., will be leaving the Acupuncture Continuum Inc. Clinic on Feb. 13 and moving to Wilmington, North Carolina. This decision did not come easily and has brought about many mixed emotions. I will be moving to an area where I have family and joining a new healing community project called the Natural Therapies Institute. This new clinic is a great opportunity for me to get in to a practice on the ground floor and be a part of the growth process. I will also enjoy living near my parents, brother, sister in-law, and my niece. It has been a long time since my wife and I have lived near our family and we are both excited.

Although the excitement is intense, the sadness associated with leaving such a beautiful city and collection of friends that have become our family is overwhelming. Over the years I have made friends who have been an essential part of my life. They watched me through the grueling process of the Chinese Medicine program at PCOM, they have been there in times of despair and also celebrated some of the best times in my life. I will miss them all and continue to coax them to make the move and join me in NC. I have also had the great pleasure of treating a number of patients with whom I have established a connection and true passion for their well being. I will miss all of my patients and continue to have an open door policy regarding questions by email. I have enjoyed educating many of you and been blessed to have the favor returned. My patients teach me something new every day.

My final day at the Acpuncture Continuum Inc. will be on Feb. 13, 2010. I will be treating until 1pm. I thank you all from the depths of my heart, especially Karen Sulger L.Ac., who I will be referring my patients to and hoping that Devon (whom we are courting as a replacement) will take over where I left off and continue to grow this beautiful clinic.

I am so Lucky to have something so difficulty to say goodbye to.

In Love and Peace,

   Jeremy Linquist, L.Ac.

Are you aware of your childrens diet? Do you understand nutrition? Does the Food Pyramid have any relation to a proper diet? The answer to these questions is an astounding NO in our current society. With a lack of education for the general public, Nutrition has become a hidden science that the food companies want to dictate. Unfortunately the greed and money behind the so called science of western scientific nutrition has been taking its toll on the western society. We are approaching an era where the lifespan of our children is not expected to be as long as their parents. This is primarily due to the food they eat. With other factors in mind such as exercise, stress, and poverty, we can make a change that will become the difference in the way we live. This is a short video of the problems we face. Take the initiative to learn about Nutrition from a whole food perspective. The way nature intended for us to eat.

If somebody you know is having trouble with a traumatic incident in their life, there is Help!! Many studies have found Acupuncture to be an effective form of treatment for symptoms of PTSD. The NADA protocol is an auricular (ear) acupuncture method that has been used in the treatment of Addiction, Mental Emotional Disorders and Acute and Chronic Pain. This protocol has been proven to be effective in a clinical setting and is being used by Alcohol and Drug treatment centers around the world. More recently, Acupuncture has been introduced by the Military to treat disorders stemming from PTSD and Pain due to combat.
